Nominate an Outstanding Mentor for the
Women’s Trucking Federation — Mentor of the Year Award

Do you know a mentor whose guidance, encouragement, and honest challenge have transformed the careers of others? A mentor who listens first, shares hard-won wisdom, and celebrates mentees  success long after they can stand on their own?

This award will be presented to someone , who shows outstanding, long-lasting support in mentoring and inspiring leadership in our industry. In memory of Richard Cripps (#SA1), we honor those whose guidance helps others grow and succeed.

Help us honour that individual by submitting a nomination for the Women’s Trucking Federation Mentor of the Year Award.

An effective mentor is someone who supports, challenges, and guides others to grow. Here are some key qualities that make a great mentor:

Active Listener – Pays attention, asks thoughtful questions, and truly hears what their mentee needs.

Supportive & Encouraging – Believes in their mentee’s potential and boosts their confidence.

Honest & Constructive – Gives clear, helpful feedback—even when it’s tough to hear.

Shares Knowledge & Experience – Passes on wisdom, practical advice, and insights from their own journey.

Challenges & Inspires Growth – Pushes mentees to stretch beyond their comfort zone.

Creates a Safe Space – Fosters trust and respect, where mentees feel comfortable asking for help.

Acts as a Connector – Introduces mentees to useful networks and opportunities.

Leads by Example – Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning

A truly great mentor doesn’t just give answers—they help mentees discover their own. Have you had a mentor who embodied these qualities?
