Mission

Beyond its commercial nature, P&F’s mission is to encourage women to take part in traditionally male professions. The P&F collection was born from a need, a need for women to stay themselves in their workplaces. P&F develops exclusive clothing for women, drawn to their image and for their comfort, and strongly believes that the more women will be free to « be » women on their work sites, the easier it will be for them to take their place freely.

P&F wants to help women show their true colors, and also help the society to realize that many areas would benefit from diversifying their human resources.

The P&F Women’s work boots is certainly not one to be tongue-tied. It can take it on the chin and easilly bounce back. But watch out! It’s waterproof, so it tends to flirt with puddles…

Mandy Rennehan

I had the pleasure of being a VIP guest at Conestoga College today for the Jill Of All Trades A Day For Women event.  What a remarkable bunch of young ladies in attendance at this event. They were young , inquisitive, with a desire and  willingness to learn about the trades.

After welcoming comments from Dr. John Tibbits ( Conestoga College President) and Dr. Julia Biedermann ( Executive Dean, schools of engineering & Information technology,Trades & Apprenticeship and the Institute of Food Processing Technology)

It was time for the keynote speaker. Mandy Rennehan owner of Freshco , Ms.Chatelaine December 2016, 2016 EY Entrepreneur of the year and profit magazine ranked 20th on W100 list. Mandy was born and raised in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia

Mandy and her Freschco crew started off by firing T-Shirts into the crowd of young ladies. This was a very exciting time for them all. Mandy gave them a brief run down of how her career started and the current success of her company. By age 30 she had made her 1st Million. She was a very powerful and motivational speaker to these young ladies, they couldn’t wait to get a hug from Mandy. She told them she is called the ” Wood Whisperer” for real. Mandy is a true advocate for mentoring people of all ages and genders who are looking for a rewarding career. Want to hear Mandy speaking to the students today go to our Facebook page and watch it live https://www.facebook.com/WTFC2015/?ref=bookmarks

We then took a tour of the workshops going on for the students. Hats off to the Faculty and staff who put so much work into making today’s event a success !

Early on in my career I had heard the name Kim Richardson. Although I didn’t know him, I had certainly read a lot about Kim and his successful truck training school KRTS. What always intrigued me was his love and passion for the trucking industry. His genuine care and concern about the people working in this industry and more importantly what he could do to make it better.

I continued to follow Kim through my adventures in trucking. I’ve seen him speak at various events throughout the years. It always amazed me that this trucking industry executive took the time to attend such events as the professional drivers’ rodeo, trucking for a cure, special olympics convoy and too many other to list them all here. You’re probably asking yourself, what’s the big deal? As a driver I can tell you it’s not often we see the executives at events that are geared for drivers. Kim is one of the few who does and more importantly he takes the time to listen to drivers concerns about the training of new drivers. With Kim, drivers have always been treated like we are ” more than just a driver ” .

When I started the Women’s Trucking Federation Of Canada , I knew the direction we wanted to go in but was unsure how to go about it. We had hit many stumbling blocks and many who thought we were wasting our time. So, I decided to reach out to Kim Richardson in the hopes he would be able to offer us some advice and guidance.

KRTSOur first meeting was at KRTS in Caledonia . His warm smile and friendly greeting made me feel confident that I had reached out to the right person. The office enviroment and his staff are very friendly and welcoming. Over the course of the last year I’ve personally attended many events that Kim has been involved with either speaking , attending, or sponsoring. I’m honored to have Kim Richardson as a member of our Industry Advisory Board. For me personally he has been an amazing mentor and a good friend.
